Free online course: Research and front-line work with newcomers to Canada

The Wellesley Institute is excited to offer a new opportunity to take its online course, Research and Front-Line Work with Newcomers to Canada. This training is intended to build knowledge and skills among front-line workers and their managers in the Greater Toronto Area in how to design, carry out, and share research with policymakers and other practitioners. Participants will also learn about ways to apply research findings to their own practice. This can improve settlement services and healthcare for immigrants, refugees, and people with precarious or no status in Canada.

The facilitated course has six modules and is offered at no cost. It will take place over three weeks, from Monday, January 15 to Friday, February 2, 2023, with two modules per week. Each module takes 60 to 90 minutes, and two will become available for review and discussion each week. You can complete both modules on your own schedule and at your own pace during their week.
