Rodel Ramos is Acting Manager, Community Innovation & Partnerships at York Region. His team manages the Region’s Local Immigration Partnership and its advisory, the Newcomer Inclusion Table, as well as administration of the Human Services Planning Board and implementation of York Region’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.

Rodel’s career spans the private, not-for-profit and government sectors. Before joining York Region, Rodel was Director of Peel Newcomer Strategy Group (PNSG), where he published a report that updated settlement research and insights to help service providers prepare for the upcoming IRCC call for proposals. He also co-authored a health equity paper as part of an anti-Black racism and systemic discrimination collective. Before PNSG, he worked for Diabetes Canada, Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) and the insurance industry, where he led communications and cross-sector partnership development. As a consultant, Rodel supported the Women’s Legal Education & Action Fund, Visa Canada and Roberta Jamieson’s bid for National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. He also managed communications for the technology start-up that created Interac eTransfers for the Canadian banking industry.

In 2018, Rodel received his MBA from Athabasca University and, in 2023, began teaching business writing and marketing communications for Conestoga College’s School of Business.
