Student in Sociology at York University
Quanbin Zhang is a fourth-year student at York University, pursuing his undergraduate degree in Sociology. He is currently a research assistant in the Department of Sociology at York University and is involved in the ISAY research project, studying the immigration experiences of recent Chinese immigrants within the GTA. He hopes to provide a platform for the stories and voices of newcomers, in order to further promote understanding of hardships surrounding family resiliency and coping with new environments. Quanbin is passionate about the field of sociological research and is also interested in examining the construction of identity in relation to social mobility; particularly in relation to the self and collective identities amongst first- and second-generation Chinese Immigrants.
