A new article on Housing international students: Housing suitability across municipalities written by Max Stick, Feng Hou, and Haozhen Zhang was released on May 22, 2024.

With an increase in the number of international students and a greater need for affordable housing, questions have arisen about international students housing experiences. This article examines international students’ prevalence of living in unsuitable housing across municipalities enumerated in the 2021 Census of Population long-form questionnaire. The report also presents the rates of unsuitable housing for international students from different source countries and provides comparisons with Canadian-born students.
