Chaire du Département de géographie de l'Université York de 2009 à 2013

Les intérêts de recherche du professeur Lo couvrent de nombreux domaines. Utilisant une approche d'économie politique, ses travaux sur la diaspora chinoise se concentrent principalement sur l'évolution des modes d'établissement, les structures commerciales, le comportement des consommateurs et les performances du marché du travail. Ses travaux sur l'établissement et l'intégration des immigrants portent sur la fourniture, l'accès et l'utilisation des services d'établissement, les performances du marché du travail, l'entrepreneuriat des immigrants et l'économie ethnique, ainsi que le rôle des banques ethniques dans l'intégration des immigrants. Actuellement, elle étudie la migration hautement qualifiée entre la Chine, le Canada et les États-Unis.

Elle a obtenu son doctorat au département de géographie de l'université de Toronto, sa maîtrise, Département de géographie de l'Université McMaster, et son baccalauréat (Summa Cum Laude), départements d'économie et de géographie de l'Université McMaster.

Elle a été présidente du département de géographie de l'Université York de 2009 à 2013.

Chef de file de l'axe Transports et commerce du Réseau des centres d'excellence en géomatique pour la prise de décisions éclairées (GEOIDE) de 2003 à 2005.

Responsable du domaine Économie et marché du travail, CERIS - Centre Metropolis de l'Ontario, de 2002 à 2006.

Directeur du programme de premier cycle, Département de géographie de l'Université de York de 1998 à 2001.

Membre du comité de rédaction de Geographical and Environmental Modelling de 1996 à 2002.

Conseiller à l'Association canadienne des sciences régionales de 1995 à 2001.
