Rachel Walker

Rachel Walker is currently completing a Bachelors of Anthropology at the University of Ottawa. She is interested in the fields of sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology, particularly minority languages, bilingualism and language practices and identities. She is also a research assistant on multiple BMRC-IRMU projects in the Ottawa-Gatineau city network. Specifically, she is working with Luisa Veronis on the Neighbourhood Study to understand newcomer settlement and integration in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, a project examining international student experiences at the University of Ottawa, and the Transversal 1 project (analysis of policy discourses and structures of governance).
