Kira Williams is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario. She holds a PhD in Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University. Kira is a a data scientist, policy analyst and statistician specialising in statistical programming, mathematical statistics and social science. Her research focuses on international migration, statistics and public policy. Some of Kira's recent projects include exploring unaccompanied minor journeys across the Mediterranean to the EU, statistically analysing gendered pay gaps in Canada and mapping the relationship between migration and business performance in Canada. She also conducts research on the effects of border enforcement on migration and loss of life worldwide.
