Research Assistant in the Department of Sociology at York University in Toronto

Victoria Ogley is a research assistant in the Department of Sociology at York University in Toronto. She holds an MA in Sociology from York University. She is interested in immigration and immigration issues within Canada, particularly among the Canadian-born Chinese youth diaspora and the trend of return movement to their parents’ country of origin. She is currently involved in a research project examining family resiliency, coping mechanisms, and the immigration experience of recent Chinese immigrant seniors, adults, and youths within the GTA.

She has written her MRRP on “Exploring the Return Movement of Children of Hong Kong Immigrants Through the Lens of Transnationalism, Social and Cultural Reproduction, and the Intersections of Class, Race and Racialization.”
