January's Kitchener-Waterloo's update

Do you have any update about research activities in your city network?
After much input the ethics review application for the focus group guide and the key informant interview for the “Engendering Resilient Pathways and Communities” , has been submitted.
We continue to gather information for the mapping of institutional actors in the region as well as a demographic profile of the Region of Waterloo as it pertains to our sample (newcomers with temporary or no status).
At the same time, the longitudinal study guide is being developed as the natural step to research in the focus groups. Longitudinal study insights from presenters at the Ottawa meeting last year have been important for this guide.
Do you have any update on Knowledge mobilization activities(Publications, events) in your city network?
The principal investigator (Dr. Jenna Hennebry) and the project coordinator (David Celis-Parra) have been meeting with Dr. Rich Janzen (Centre for Community Based Research), Dr. Jim Perretta (School of Psychology, University of Waterloo) to enable conversations around resilience, building awareness of our project and assessing potential collaboration efforts. We are aiming to meet with Iman Arab from the Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns (CCORIC) later this month.
Dr. Hennebry will be participating in a Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership panel this upcoming March 1 on changes in Canadian immigration policy. More details to come.
Do you have any external updates that you want to promote to the parnership(external events, call for proposals)
