Local immigration partnerships, poverty reduction strategies, bed bugs and grant-writing are all in a day for Diane Dyson. As a community-based social researcher, interested in issues of neighbourhoods and poverty, Diane is Director, Research & Public Policy at WoodGreen Community Services, a large multiservice agency and thought leader in Toronto. Diane has led research on community hubs, the informal economy, employment precarity, immigrants, older adults, neighbourhood wellbeing, and housing.

Prior to this, Diane worked at United Way of Greater Toronto, where she co-authored Losing Ground. Diane's community contributions include leadership work with the Toronto District School Board's Equity Policy Advisory Committee and Inner City Advisory Committee, People for Education, Social Planning Toronto, and the Federation of Metro Tenants Associations. Having grown up in Montreal, Diane speaks a few languages badly. Diane blogs at www.belongingcommunity.wordpress.com and tweets at @Diane_Dyson.
